The Indian state of Gujarat is on very high alert after Pakistan reportedly informed New Delhi of possible infiltration of terrorists in that state.
Security agencies have been placed on high alert after Pakistan’s National Security Advisor Lt Gen (retd) Nasir Khan Janjua talked to his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval.
He said as many as 10 terrorists belonging to Jaish-e-Muhammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba have entered Gujarat.
Indian media said the state government received information from the central government earlier yesterday that terroists have entered Gujarat.
Security forces were conducting raids in different areas of Gujarat while security was tightened at sensitive installations and worship places.
The leave of all police personnel has been cancelled and the state government has increased security at all the main temples of the state for ‘Maha Shivaratri’ festival tomorrow.
Besides the heavy deployment of police and paramilitary troops security of all the Air Force and Army bases has also been beefed up.
