Sean “Diddy” Combs has been placed on suicide watch at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center following his recent arrest. The charges against him include sex trafficking, racketeering, and prostitution-related offences.
People magazine reports that this measure is precautionary, as Combs, 54, is reportedly shocked by his situation and uncertain about his mental state.
Suicide watch involves close monitoring of inmates with potential mental health concerns. The duration of Combs’ supervision has not been disclosed, nor has it been revealed if he has shown suicidal tendencies.
Earlier this week, federal agents arrested Combs at the Park Hyatt in New York. Despite his legal team’s efforts for house arrest, Manhattan federal Magistrate Judge Robyn Tarnofsky denied bail due to the serious nature of the allegations.
Combs is now held at the Metropolitan Detention Center, known for its challenging conditions and notorious past detainees such as R. Kelly and Ghislaine Maxwell.
His legal team contends that the jail conditions are unsuitable for Combs, citing recent deaths and violent incidents, including a murder earlier this year and four suicides in the last three years.

The charges against Combs involved organizing “Freak Off” sex sessions where women and male prostitutes were allegedly compelled to perform sexual acts while Combs watched, participated, and filmed.
The indictment further alleges that Combs used drugs to control his victims during these sessions, which sometimes extended over several days. In March, federal agents raided his homes in Miami and Los Angeles, confiscating significant evidence, including over 1,000 bottles of lubricant and three AR-15 rifles.
As the case progresses, public and media scrutiny intensely focuses on the shocking allegations and Combs’ condition in custody.
