Scottie Pippen, one of the NBA’s most illustrious players, was in the headlines, overshadowed by controversies stemming from past relationships, including a lawsuit from an ex-partner.
Chyvette Valentine, who alleges a relationship with Pippen from 1987 to 1993, has initiated a $250 million lawsuit against him and his brother, Carl, in Illinois. She accuses them of harassment and stalking and asserts that an assault by the two in 2011 resulted in the birth and subsequent death of her son, Devonte.
Valentine claims Pippen exploited his fame to inflict mental and emotional distress upon her. She also contends she was unaware of his marriage to Karen McCollum between 1988 and 1990 and had previously sought $9,999 in small claims court for various expenses incurred while visiting him.
Moreover, she attempted to report him to the police, alleging that Pippen used his influence to discredit her claims as delusions of mental illness. A hearing is scheduled for May 2, 2024.
Regarding Pippen’s marital history, he first married Karen McCollum in 1988, with whom he had a son, Antron, who passed away in 2021; the couple divorced in 1990. Pippen’s marriage to Larsa Younan, from 1997 to 2021, produced four children. Despite a temporary separation in 2016, the divorce was finalized in 2021. Since the divorce, Larsa has criticized Pippen and is currently in a relationship with Marcus Jordan, Michael Jordan’s son.
