An ATC (Anti-terrorist Court) released Shahid, one of the suspects in the rape and murder of a 13-year-old school in Karachi, due to a lack of evidence.
The case made headlines in late September last year when the young teenager’s body was found at Karachi’s sea view beach.
The girl had allegedly been abducted from her school by her cousin and her husband (Reema and Bilal), along with two other suspects, Waqar and Shahid. The motive of the kidnapping was ransom. But the child was killed since the kidnappers feared she would identify them.
While the remaining three suspects are still in custody, Shahid has been released since the police failed to provide any evidence linking him to the case.
