The Supreme Court of Pakistan to hear contempt of court case against Minister of State for Interior Affairs Tallal Chaudhry today..
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court, led by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and comprising Justices Maqbool Baqar and Faisal Arab, will hear the case.
The bench has also summoned scripts of the minister’s media statements and political speeches.
Chaudhry arrived in court along with senior party leaders, including Senator Pervaiz Rasheed and state minister Tariq Fazl Chaudhry.
The apex court initiated contempt proceedings against Chaudhry on account of “derogatory and contemptuous speeches/statements” with regard to the honourable court, read a notification issued on February 2.
