Saudi Arabia’s national airline, Saudia Airways, launched Apple’s Find My Share Item Location feature. This new service helps passengers track their lost or delayed baggage. It is available for travellers flying from Pakistan.
The Pakistan Aviation Authority announced that passengers can create a secure tracking link using the Find My app on iPhone, iPad, or Mac. This link connects through Saudia’s digital portal for easy tracking.
This feature is encrypted and anonymous. It uses Bluetooth and Apple’s Find My network, which includes over one billion devices, to locate baggage. The location sharing stops automatically once the baggage is found or after seven days have passed. Passengers can also stop sharing at any time. To use this service, passengers need iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, macOS 15.2, or later.
Abdulqader Attiah, Chief Data and Technology Officer at Saudia Group, said, “We are committed to digital transformation, and this new technology will enhance the passenger experience. Using Apple’s Share Item Location shows our dedication to providing world-class service.”
This feature benefits Pakistani travellers going for Hajj, Umrah, business, or personal trips.
Approximately 1.5 million Pakistanis travel to Saudi Arabia each year. This technology improves travel security and convenience. Saudia’s use of advanced technology sets a new standard in the aviation industry. It matches the 60% of travellers who prefer digital solutions.
