Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS) is expected to visit Islamabad between May 10 and 15.
This visit holds substantial significance as Pakistan seeks significant investments from Saudi Arabia across various sectors. The forthcoming trip will be Prince Salman’s first to Pakistan in five years, his previous visit having occurred in February 2019 under the administration of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The anticipated visit is set to solidify understandings reached in Makkah, which include attracting Saudi investments totalling $5 billion into Pakistan shortly. However, the exact dates of MBS’s visit have not been officially confirmed.
Plans for MBS to visit in 2023 were initially made but were abruptly cancelled.
In anticipation of Prince Salman’s forthcoming visit, a distinguished 50-member Saudi trade delegation led by Deputy Investment Minister Ibrahim Almubarak has arrived in Islamabad. The delegation commenced its two-day official visit yesterday and will focus on exploring a range of trade and investment prospects within Pakistan.
The delegation features a comprehensive array of professionals representing various economic sectors such as energy, aviation, IT, telecommunications, construction, mining exploration, agriculture, and human resource development. The diversity of these sectors highlights the broad scope and substantial potential for multifaceted collaborations between the two nations.
The visit emphasizes the depth of the partnership and showcases the varied opportunities for bilateral advancements and mutual economic benefits.
