Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court has confirmed the sighting of the Zilhaj moon, initiating the Islamic calendar’s final month. Various moon sightings were reported on Zilqad’s 29th day. The court declared that Zilhaj would begin on Friday. Eid ul Adha is set for June 16, following the Day of Arafat on June 15.
Additionally, the Zilhaj moon appeared in several Gulf nations, including the UK, the US, and Canada. Saudi Arabia anticipates a record turnout for this year’s Hajj, and to diminish the heat, it is implementing measures such as road whitening in Arafat.
Pakistan’s Ruet-e-Hilal Committee plans to meet on Friday to confirm the moon’s sighting. A Saudi official noted, “This year’s Hajj will witness unprecedented attendance. We’ve adopted comprehensive steps for pilgrim safety and comfort.”
