Sara Ali Khan, the daughter of actors Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh and granddaughter of the last ruler of the princely state of Pataudi during British rule, is set to portray a new royal character, Misha, in the film Gaslight.
In an interview with The Hindu, Sara revealed that she doesn’t see herself as royalty despite her lineage, calling such assumptions “ridiculous.”
The Love Aaj Kal actress spoke about her simple upbringing in Mumbai, stating that she has no idea what being royal means. Gaslight, featuring Sara, Vikrant Massey, Chitrangda Singh, Akshay Oberoi, and Rahul Dev, tells the story of Misha, a young paraplegic woman who returns to her family’s royal estate after her estranged father’s sudden disappearance.
Joined by Rukmini (Chitrangda) and Kapil (Vikrant), Misha becomes entangled in a web of peculiar events as she tries to uncover a hidden truth. Gaslight is set to release on Disney+ Hotstar on March 31, 2023.
