Samsung Galaxy S26 Perplexity AI marks a major upgrade in the company’s artificial intelligence strategy, introducing the new “Hey Plex” voice command for seamless assistance across apps.
With the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung has implemented Perplexity as a system-level AI solution. Users can activate it by saying “Hey, Plex” or pressing the side button.

The Hey Plex feature connects directly with core Samsung apps, including Notes, Calendar, Gallery, Clock, and Reminders. As a result, users can complete tasks across multiple applications without switching between separate assistants.
The integration also supports select third-party apps. Therefore, Perplexity functions as the main assistant throughout much of the Galaxy S26 experience.
Unlike traditional chatbots, Perplexity operates as an AI agent that understands context within the device environment. Samsung says it can coordinate with other AI tools, including the revamped Bixby, to deliver smarter, workflow-focused support.
According to Samsung, many users rely on multiple AI agents for different needs. Consequently, the company is shifting toward a unified AI ecosystem capable of managing several agents across the operating system.
