Recent leaks from the Samsung Galaxy Buds Controller app indicate that Samsung will expand its true wireless stereo (TWS) lineup to include the Galaxy Buds Core and Galaxy Buds 3 FE. These upcoming earbuds promise enhanced features and improved battery life, positioning them as successors to the popular Galaxy Buds FE launched in 2023.

An APK teardown by Android Authority revealed model numbers linked to Samsung’s new earbuds:

  • SM-R410: Galaxy Buds Core, likely replacing the rumoured “Galaxy Buds FE 2.”
  • SM-R420: Galaxy Buds 3 FE, a new addition to the affordable TWS range.
  • SM-R400: Existing Galaxy Buds FE for reference.

Samsung expects the Galaxy Buds Core to become its most budget-friendly true wireless stereo (TWS) option. At the same time, the Buds 3 FE may target a slightly more premium segment within the affordable category.

Battery and Certifications

Rumours suggest the Galaxy Buds Core will feature a 500mAh charging case and 100mAh batteries for each earbud. These specifications represent a notable upgrade over the Galaxy Buds FE, which offer a 479mAh charging case and 60mAh per earbud. Samsung has not yet revealed battery details for the Buds 3 FE.

While Samsung has not officially confirmed these earbuds, speculation points to a reveal at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2025, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7. The Galaxy Buds Core is in an advanced development stage, with firmware work underway, reinforcing the likelihood of a near-term launch.

Details on active noise cancellation (ANC), audio quality, or design remain scarce. For context, the Galaxy Buds FE offered ANC, an IPX2 rating, and up to 30 hours of battery life (ANC off), setting a benchmark for these successors.

Samsung’s focus on affordable TWS earbuds like the Galaxy Buds Core and Buds 3 FE reflects the growing demand for high-quality, budget-friendly audio solutions. With improved battery life and potential enhancements in sound quality, these earbuds could strengthen Samsung’s position in the competitive TWS market.
