The Ghotki police detained Ali Rajput and Imran Rajput following the discovery of TikToker Samira Rajput’s body at her home in Bhotta Mohallah. Her daughter, Saba, claimed that the suspects poisoned her mother because she refused to marry them. The police are currently conducting an investigation, with a post-mortem examination underway.
Samira, a 28-year-old TikToker with over 58,000 followers, was living alone after separating from her husband, Ali Hassan Soomro. According to Saba, Ali, and Imran frequently visited Samira, pressuring her to consider remarrying. She told the police, “I believe one of them poisoned her out of frustration.” Her body was taken to Taluka Hospital in Ghotki for a post-mortem examination, which revealed no signs of physical violence, according to Medical Superintendent Dr. Sarwanand. Samples are currently being analysed to confirm whether poisoning occurred.
The Ghotki police have detained Ali and Imran Rajput for questioning, but no formal FIR has been filed yet. District Police Officer Anwar Shaikh stated, “We are pursuing multiple leads to determine if foul play was involved.” A video recorded by Samira days before, in which she accuses her ex-husband of making threats, has surfaced online, according to The Frontier Post. Additionally, her brother, Saddam, has implicated Ali and Imran, claiming they were involved in poisoning.
Samira’s death follows a pattern of violence against female influencers. In June 2025, 17-year-old TikToker Sana Yousaf was shot dead in Islamabad, with suspect Umar Hayat arrested. Social media outrage over the death of Samira demands stronger protections for influencers, highlighting gender-based violence risks.
Samira’s million-plus TikTok likes underscored her influence. Fans expressed grief, with X users noting: “Another TikToker lost to violence.” The case, reported by The Patriot, sparked calls for transparent investigations, reflecting public concern over influencer safety.
