In a startling development, Sahir Hasan, the son of renowned actor Sajid Hasan, has been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation into the murder of Mustafa Amir in Karachi.
Karachi police following a series of police raids in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area, focusing on combating the local drug trade.
The operations led to the apprehension of four young individuals, including Sahir Hasan. Police also seized a reportedly worth Rs 5 million worth of drugs from Hasan’s possession.
Mustafa Amir Murder Case
During his interrogation, Sahir Hasan made several revelations about his involvement in drug trafficking within the DHA community, admitting to selling drugs for the past two years. His connections reportedly extend to Armaghan Qureshi, identified as the prime suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case.
The trial court recently extended the physical remand of two key accused in the case, Armaghan Qureshi and Sheeraz, granting investigators an additional five days to investigate their involvement. This extension comes amid new forensic challenges, with authorities needing to decode seized laptops and USBs potentially linked to the crime.

On a related note, following court orders, the Sindh Health Department conducted an exhumation of Mustafa Amir’s body for DNA sampling. Dr. Sumayya Syed, a police surgeon, reported that determining the cause of death was challenging without fingerprints, relying solely on DNA analysis.
