Ryan Whyte Maloney, known for his appearance on “The Voice,” has died by suicide, on Tuesday in Nevada.
according to the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner TMZ reported that the official cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.
The night before his death, Maloney shared a video on his Instagram Story, where he appeared to be at a bar, announcing, “Nine fine Irishmen for a private party tonight, and we will be rocking.” This video highlighted his final public appearance.
Maloney’s journey to fame began on season six of “The Voice” in 2014, where his rendition of Journey’s “Lights” during the blind auditions secured him a place on Blake Shelton’s team. He advanced to become one of Shelton’s top 5 finalists, participating in several battle rounds and performing in the season finale.
Throughout his time on the show, Maloney showcased his vocal versatility by covering hits like Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” Shinedown’s “Second Chance,” and Rascal Flatts’ “Easy,” in addition to his audition song.
