Cancer drugs valued at Rs 360 million have been reported stolen at Civil Hospital Karachi.

The stolen items include 76,000 cancer pills, missing over a period spanning from February 17, 2023, to September 26, 2023.

Following a detailed complaint from the Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital, a case has been initiated against several health department employees at the Eidgah police station.

As per the initial information, police have implicated two employees of Civil Hospital, Niaz Khaskheli and Iqbal.

The issue came to light following reports of medication expiring prematurely, which prompted a thorough investigation. The investigation has unveiled serious lapses in the hospital’s internal security and oversight mechanisms.

Police are actively conducting raids to locate and arrest those responsible for this egregious theft.
