Renowned British actor Rowan Atkinson is set to bring his signature chaotic comedy back to screens this festive season. While globally iconic as Mr. Bean, Atkinson has a celebrated career in British cinema and television. He will star in a new four-part Netflix series launching in December 2025.
In the series, Atkinson reprises his role as Trevor Bingley, the hapless doorman of a luxurious London apartment. His orderly life is thrown into disarray when he is unexpectedly tasked with babysitting an infant over the Christmas holidays. This project serves as a continuation of the story from Atkinson’s 2022 Netflix comedy, ‘Man vs Bee.’
Departing from the standard holiday romantic comedy, Netflix and Atkinson promise a series filled with improvisational humour, spontaneous joy, and heartfelt laughs. The streaming platform is launching the show on Thursday, December 11. They hope it will become a seasonal favourite for audiences worldwide.
The official synopsis, according to IMDb, reads: “After a disastrous experience house-sitting a high-tech mansion hampered by an inconvenient insect, Trevor Bingley now finds himself house-sitting a luxurious penthouse in London, with company he hadn’t asked for.”
While the core cast centres on Atkinson, the series features a strong ensemble. Confirmed actors include Claudie Blakley, Susannah Fielding, Robert Bathurst, Ellie White, Angus Imrie, Sunetra Sarker, and Alanah Bloor. Alanah Bloor will play Maddy.
