Pakistan Muslim League-Q Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Syed has claimed that the returning officers (ROs) in general elections of 2013 directly acted upon orders from the former chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary.

Addressing symposium on ‘Reforms in Election Commission’ organized by the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, the PML-Q leader said that justice (retired) Riaz Kiyani as confessing that ROs got orders from former CJP in general elections 2013.

He claimed that the election commission members were not in the control of the ECP. “The then ECP chairman Fakhruddin G. Ibrahim was held hostage by the ECP members,” he alleged.

He said he was thankful to the marchers whose demands had prompted inclusion of electoral reforms point in the national agenda.
