The football world once again witnessed Cristiano Ronaldo’s relentless drive and skill as he celebrated his 850th career goal.
The milestone came during Al Nassr’s dominant 5-1 victory against Al-Hazm in a recent Saudi Pro League match. This triumph was a significant highlight for Al Nassr, marking their third consecutive league victory.
Ronaldo & Co.: A Powerhouse Performance
Not just content with reaching an impressive personal milestone, Ronaldo also showcased his characteristic playmaking abilities. He added another goal to his tally, making it six goals in his last three games, and contributed two crucial assists. Ronaldo’s prowess was complemented by Sadio Mane, who, too, found the back of the net, illustrating Al Nassr’s intimidating offensive capabilities.
Transitioning from Manchester United to Al-Nassr in December, Ronaldo has seamlessly adapted to his new team. He’s been sensational, having scored 26 goals in merely 30 appearances for Al Nassr. Notably, just a year ago, while with Manchester United, he achieved the monumental 800th career goal.
Ronaldo expressed his delight after the match on social media, “Another great team performance! We keep improving. Let’s go @AlNassrFC… 850 career goals and still counting!”
The Saudi Pro League’s Intense Competition
While Al Nassr is enjoying a purple patch, they remain in a tight race, standing four points adrift of current league leaders, Al-Hilal. In a nail-biting clash, Aleksander Mitrovic’s three goals were pivotal in Al-Hilal’s 4-3 win against Al-Ittihad, with Karim Benzema also getting on the scoreboard.
On the other hand, Moussa Dembele’s double secured Al-Ettifaq a 3-1 victory over Damac, helping Steven Gerrard’s squad snap a two-game winless streak.
However, the surprises didn’t end there. Al-Ahli, boasting big names like Roberto Firmino, Gabri Veiga, Riyad Mahrez, and Allan Saint-Maximin, faced an unexpected 5-1 drubbing from Al-Fateh, which might prove consequential in their league campaign.
