Karachi: On Wednesday, a significant security breach occurred at a private bank in Korangi. A coordinated robbery led to a substantial loss.

At approximately 10:45 a.m., four individuals on two motorcycles targeted the HBL branch in the Korangi-6 area. An official at the Awami Colony police station promptly reported the incident.

Upon arriving at the scene, the robbers quickly overpowered the two security guards stationed at the bank. They managed to disarm the guards and proceeded to rob Rs1 million from the cash counter, all while holding the employees at gunpoint. According to SHO Ghazanfar, the security guards did not resist the robbers, which facilitated the theft of the cash and their weapons.

The police have initiated a thorough investigation into the robbery. Fortunately, the bank’s video recording system was active and unharmed during the incident, providing a potential avenue for clues. The footage is currently being examined to identify the perpetrators and understand the sequence of events in hopes of capturing the robbers and preventing future incidents.

This robbery highlights the vulnerabilities in security measures at financial institutions and underscores the need for enhanced protective strategies to safeguard assets and personnel.
