Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said late yesterday that “if the proofs of rigging general election 2013 were in ballot boxes, then what Imran Khan and his party had been doing to collect evidence for the last several months”.
Speaking to media persons in Islamabad, Rashid said Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan had to eat humble pie when the ballot boxes of NA-122 constituency were opened as the votes tally of winning PML-N candidate Sardar Ayaz Sadiq increased further.
He said that “Imran Khan sometimes claimed that the proofs of rigging were in ballot boxes and sometimes he said the same were in his possession”. How long would he try to befool the masses? he asked.
The minister also questioned as to how the PTI chief had secured 7 million votes in general election 2013 if the same were rigged.
He questioned as to what Imran Khan was doing in Islamabad while the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were suffering from rains.
The people, he said, were being killed by torrential rains but KP Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak was nowhere to be found monitoring the rescue operation.
He said Imran had lost trust of the people and damaged his public image due to lies he had been telling the nation.
