France’s premier MRI scanner has produced its inaugural human brain images, heralding a new era in medical imaging precision.
Health officials authorized the Atomic Energy Commission’s cutting-edge device for human scans, and it has examined approximately 20 volunteers. Located in the technologically rich Plateau de Saclay, this MRI, capable of an 11.7-tesla magnetic field, offers insights previously unattainable.
It achieves a tenfold increase in image precision over standard hospital MRIs. According to physicist Alexandre Vignaud, the scanner, Iseult, sets a new benchmark for clarity in medical imaging.
