Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli and actress Anushka Sharma joyfully announced the arrival of their second child, a baby boy, on Tuesday.
Through individual Instagram posts, the couple shared the heartwarming news, revealing their son’s birth date as February 15. Kohli expressed their joy in a heartfelt message, introducing their newborn, “Akaay,” as the little brother to their first child, Vamika.
“With immense joy and hearts brimming with love, we are thrilled to announce that on February 15, our baby boy Akaay, Vamika’s little brother, was welcomed into the world!” they announced.
They kindly requested fans’ prayers and blessings while asking for privacy during this significant time.
Kholi’s announcement was also echoed on Kohli’s official X account, formerly known as Twitter. Notably, Kohli and Sharma have maintained a firm stance on their children’s privacy, especially with their daughter Vamika, whose face has not been shared online since her birth in 2017.
The couple, who wed in 2017, has been discreet about their second pregnancy. Anushka Sharma, a leading figure in the Bollywood industry, has since taken a step back from her acting career to focus on her family, making fewer public appearances post-Vamika’s birth.
Following the announcement, Kohli’s supporters flooded the couple with congratulatory messages and well-wishes.
