Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader and former provincial information technology minister Raza Haroon has also parted his ways with Altaf Hussain and joined hands with former city mayor Syed Mustafa Kamal and Anees Qaimkhani.
Flanked by Kamal, Anees Qaimkhani and others, Raza Haroon said: There is no need for any conspiracy against MQM chief as “he was sufficient for himself”. He said minus formula was coming out of itself and that the party was on self-destruction mode.
Raza Haroon, senior MQM leader arrived in Karachi from Dubai on Monday morning.
He said it was not their mistake to join party, however, today MQM was no longer following the ideology for which he had joined it.
“When the MQM was formed, it was against feudalism, it was for the middle class rights. All that ideology is lost somewhere,” he said.
“I joined the MQM because I believed in an ideology. That ideology is no more. The middle class members have now become upper class,” he said.
Raza Haroon added MQM was not made to worship one person or to rally against a single person’s worry.
He also strongly criticized MQM chief, saying, “You are calling United Nations to Pakistan, when you are coming.”
Raza joined MQM in 1987 and moved to London in 1994 after Karachi operation began. In 2007, he returned to Pakistan and was elected a member of Sindh Assembly on ticket of Muttahida Qaumi Movement in 2008 general elections. He served as provincial minister of Sindh for information and technology in 2009.
