Three individuals assaulted the contentious rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine at a gym in South Florida.
The alleged attackers were apprehended by the police following the circulation of videos they had recorded of the brutal assault on various social media platforms. The 26-year-old rapper was hospitalized due to injuries to his face, back, and ribs.
The three suspects were later identified as 43-year-old Rafael Medina Jr. from Lake Worth, 23-year-old Octavious Medina from Boynton Beach, and 25-year-old Anthony Maldonado from Greenacres. All of them face charges of robbery and assault.
The incident occurred at an LA Fitness gym, where rapper Daniel Hernandez, commonly known as Tekashi 6ix9ine, sustained injuries and was subsequently taken to a hospital. During the attack in the gym’s sauna, Tekashi was outnumbered by several men. According to his lawyer, Lance Lazzaro, the rapper attempted to defend himself but was ultimately beaten severely before the assailants fled the scene.
Lazzaro stated to CNN that Tekashi 6ix9ine was assaulted in the gym sauna by three or four individuals. Despite his efforts to fight back and escape, the rapper could not do so due to the number of attackers involved. At the time of the incident, Tekashi, whose tumultuous life has become the subject of a documentary, was not accompanied by his security team.
When the attack took place, Tekashi 6ix9ine was without his security personnel. After the gym’s facility manager heard the disturbance, police and ambulance services were immediately dispatched to the scene. Viral videos captured at the time showed Tekashi 69, bloodied from the altercation, leaving the sauna and re-entering the gym’s main area.
