On Sunday (Nov. 9), the Harlem, N.Y. rapper was released from custody at Northern State Prison in Newark, N.J., and is now a free man.

Max B was initially arrested in 2006 for his involvement in a fatal hotel robbery in Fort Lee, New Jersey. A 2009 trial resulted in a 75-year prison sentence. He was convicted on charges including felony murder and armed robbery.
However, a pivotal development in 2019 resulted in his sentence being significantly reduced. The New Jersey Superior Court re-sentenced him to 20 years after he pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter.
