The moon for the holy month of Shaban-ul-Muazzam has been sighted across Pakistan. This sighting confirms Wednesday, January 21, as the first day of Shaban. Authorities made the announcement after receiving verified reports from different regions.
Based on the lunar calendar, the start date of Ramadan now depends on the length of Shaban. If Shaban lasts 29 days, Ramadan-ul-Mubarak will begin on Thursday, February 19, 2026. If the month completes 30 days, Ramadan will start on Friday, February 20, 2026.

The final and official announcement will come from the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. As per tradition, the committee will meet at the end of Shaban to review moon-sighting testimonies and issue a formal declaration.
With the approach of Ramadan, religious activity across the country is expected to intensify. Mosques prepare for special prayers, while households begin spiritual and practical arrangements.
The confirmed start of Ramadan will only take effect after the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee issues its official notification.
