Bhikha Ram, a 32-year-old man from Rajasthan, was arrested for issuing a death threat to Bollywood actor Salman Khan.
Bhikha Ram, also known as Vikram, was apprehended in Haveri, Karnataka, and handed over to Maharashtra Police.
Anshu Kumar, the Superintendent of Police in Haveri, reported that the arrest was made following a tip from Maharashtra’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). “Upon receiving information from the Maharashtra ATS, our team acted swiftly to apprehend the individual in Haveri Town and transfer him to their custody,” Kumar stated.
Prior to his arrest, Ram had lived in various parts of Karnataka and settled in Haveri about a month and a half ago. He worked at local construction sites and lived in a rented room in Gowdar Oni.
During the arrest, police sources revealed that Ram was watching a regional news channel when he impulsively called the Mumbai Police control room to threaten Salman Khan. He reportedly expressed admiration for gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
“The accused claimed to be a fan of Lawrence Bishnoi; however, a thorough interrogation and detailed investigation will be conducted by the Mumbai Police,” a police source noted. “Our role was to secure him and ensure his handover to the appropriate authorities.”
