Renowned singer and composer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is all set to perform at the Nobel Peace Prize Awards Ceremony that will take place in Oslo on December 10.

He is the first Pakistani to receive the singular honour of performing at the ceremony.

Each year, the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates receive their Nobel Peace Prize from the Chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee in the presence of King Harald V of Norway.

On October 10, the Nobel Peace Prize went to 17-year-old Pakistani Malala Yousafzai and India’s Kailash Satyarthi for their work promoting children’s rights.

Malala is the youngest person to be awarded the globally prestigious annual prize.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif congratulated teenage education campaigner Malala Yousafzai on winning the Nobel Peace Prize, calling her the “pride” of Pakistan.

“She is (the) pride of Pakistan. She has made her countrymen proud. Her achievement is unparallelled and unequalled. Girls and boys of the world should take the lead from her struggle and commitment,” he said in a statement.
