According to the latest QS rankings, Punjab University has been recognised as Asia’s fastest-advancing institution. Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Mehmood announced this achievement at a press conference with Ranking Committee Chairman Dr. Usman Awan and Secretary Dr. Shafiqur Rahman present.
The university’s accomplishments were highlighted at the Edu Data Summit in Washington. Dr. Khalid Mahmood, representing the Pakistan Embassy in America, accepted the award for the best developer in Asia.
Punjab University has achieved this distinction by surpassing institutions from China, India, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore over the last five years.
The university improved from a rank between 740 and 750 last year to 570th globally, climbing 170 positions. This significant leap contributes to the continuous dedication of its faculty, administration, students, and Punjab University Ranking Committee.
Furthermore, Punjab University has secured the top position in Pakistan for graduate employment, showcasing its strong commitment to academic and career excellence. Dr. Usman Awan called for sustained government support and adequate funding to further elevate the performance of universities in Pakistan.
