For Chief Minister Punjab and a close ally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Parvez Elahi’s Gujrat home was raided by the Punjab Police on Monday night.
Moonis Elahi, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) and Elahi’s son, shared a video on Twitter and claimed that police had earlier surrounded his home in Gujarat and attempted to break in. However, the reason for the raid is still unknown.
In the video, a large police presence is visible outside of my Gujrat home. The former CM claimed that they were attempting to break in.
The PML-Q leader also mentioned that the police had surrounded Mohammad Khan Bhatti’s home, his former principal secretary. From Sindh’s Matiari district, Bhatti was taken into custody.
While en route to the Sindh High Court to request protective bail, the ex-CM’s principal secretary was detained. Then, under the direction of Hyderabad’s senior superintendent of police, the Sindh Police arrested Bhatti.
Elahi stated that he was concerned that Muhammad Khan Bhatti would go missing after being arrested. What message is being sent to the Punjabi leaders by doing this from Sindh? “.
Elahi demanded that Syed Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, immediately take notice of the “lawlessness.”. He asserted, “I’m sure CM Sindh will prevent such a move that will spark unrest in the provinces.
In a previous raid, the police also entered Bhatti’s official residence in Lahore’s GOR, according to sources.
The sources claim that a large police contingent broke into the home of the former principal secretary and took the servants’ mobile phones.
According to the sources, police detained a domestic worker for the Punjab Assembly named Nabeel, who was working at Bhatti’s house.
During the raid, the police also took CCTV footage from the home of the former principal secretary.
The arrests of PTI leaders and the party’s allies had occurred regularly before the recent developments. Fawad Chaudhry, the senior vice president of the PTI, was detained before being released on bail, but Sheikh Rasheed, the leader of the Awami Muslim League (AML), remains in custody.
