Punjab Law Minister Rana Mashhood might face sacking as member of the Cabinet as the government committee has reportedly discovered his conversation with an immigration consultant over exchange of bribes as ‘bona fide’, according to informed sources.
Mashood was seen demanding a bribe from a fraudulent immigration official Asim Malik via telephone, in a video footage aired on ARY News program ‘Khara Sach’ hosted by Mubashir Lucman on August 13.
The government had formed a committee headed by PML-N leader Raja Zafarul Haq to probe the matter. It is learnt that the committee had sent its recommendation to the Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, wherein it reportedly suggested the CM to sack the minister as Cabinet member as his telephonic conversation with a fraudulent official was found genuine.
