The Punjab government has received over 1.5 million applications for its Green Tractor Program, part of the Kisan Programme, which will distribute 9,500 green tractors to farmers. Today, officials will post the list of applicants eligible for the draw.
The application process involved thorough scrutiny, including verifying the applicants’ land by the respective Patwar Circle.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has endorsed the Punjab Green Tractor Scheme for 2024-25, offering a Rs. 10 lakh subsidy for each tractor manufactured in Pakistan, ranging from 50 to 85 horsepower. This initiative expanded following Mohammad Nawaz Sharif’s recommendation to enhance agricultural productivity across Punjab.
The scheme’s balloting is set for today, October 20. Successful applicants will be notified by SMS and can check their status online.
The Punjab Government launched the Green Tractor Scheme, which provides substantial subsidies to assist farmers in acquiring modern agricultural equipment. Farmers must own between 1 and 50 acres of agricultural land to qualify.
Interested farmers can apply for tractors from local manufacturers such as Millat Tractor Company and Al-Ghazi Tractors Limited. Applications were due by October 10, 2024, and farmers could select their preferred model, such as Massey Ferguson or New Holland Al-Ghazi, through an online registration system.
