The Punjab government has extended the restriction on visiting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in Adiala Jail by two additional days.
Initially set to expire on October 18, this ban will continue until October 20 due to ongoing security concerns. This prohibition impacts political and ordinary prisoners, and if security issues are not resolved, it may be extended further.
A five-member delegation from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was scheduled to visit Adiala Jail today at 8 a.m. to meet with the party’s founder. The extended ban has impacted this meeting, critical for discussing a draft constitutional amendment.
Ali Zafar, a prominent PTI leader, had secured government approval for this visit, underscoring the meeting’s importance for progressing with the constitutional changes. “We will meet with the founder in the morning and follow his directives related to the constitutional amendments,” Zafar had stated, emphasizing the necessity of this consultation.

The delegation, including notable PTI figures such as Barrister Gohar, Asad Qaisar, Hamid Khan, and Salman Akram Raja, was set to accompany Zafar. However, these plans are now paused as they await lifting the visitation restrictions.
