The Punjab E-Taxi Scheme 2026 has officially been launched by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif as part of the CM Punjab Transport Vision 2030. The initiative introduces 1,100 electric taxis in its first phase, primarily in Lahore, to promote green mobility and create employment opportunities.

The scheme aims to reduce carbon emissions, modernise urban transport, and support inclusive economic growth. It also places strong emphasis on safety and gender inclusion.

Each electric taxi offers a driving range of 250–300 km per charge. Vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking, smart meters, and panic buttons to enhance passenger and driver security.

Punjab E-Taxi Scheme 2026: Subsidy and Financing Details

Under the Punjab E-Taxi Scheme 2026, the government is offering substantial financial support to make electric vehicles more accessible.

Male applicants receive a 50% subsidy on the equity or down payment, while female applicants receive a 60% subsidy. Financing is interest-free for five years, with the government covering the interest cost.
