Punjab budget to be presented to the assembly on June 13

 The Punjab budget will be formally presented on June 13, as the Governor has called for the budget session.

The Punjab Assembly issued the notification of the meeting after the summary was approved. The budget will be presented by Punjab Finance Minister Ayesha Ghaus Pasha.

According to sources, the budget will be comprised of more than Rs 1650 billion. According to sources, Rs 13 billion and 49 crore would be allocated for Higher Education while Rs 90 crore have been allocated for Special Education.

For School Education, Rs 22 billion and 62 crore have been set aside as Rs 9 billion have been set aside for the repair of damaged school buildings.

Sources also revealed that more than Rs 550 billion have been allocated for development while Rs 14 billion and 85 crores have been allocated for Water Supply and Sanitation.

A proposed Rs 61 crore for Social Welfare has also been included in the budget.

For Road Development, Rs 79 billion and 81 crore have been set aside whereas for Women Development, Rs 57 crore and 50 lacs have been allocated.

For Energy projects, Rs 18 billion and 40 crore have been allotted whereas for projects that are being run on foreign investment, Rs 30 billion have been allocated.

Rs 6 billion each have been set aside for the laptop scheme and for provision of facilities at schools. For industries, Rs 3 billion and 83 crore have been allocated.
