On Thursday, the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) warned of expected moderate to heavy rainfall, strong winds, and hailstorms in various parts of the province.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), areas such as Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, and others will experience significant weather changes from February 17 to 21. Light to moderate rain is also forecasted in regions like Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan between February 18 and 19.
The PDMA has instructed District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) to prepare and mobilize emergency response resources. It emphasizes the need for rescue officials to stay vigilant during this period.
Travellers received warnings about potential flooding and landslides, with advice to seek local administrative support in emergencies.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) also anticipates similar weather conditions in Gilgit Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and Balochistan. The NDMA highlighted the risk of road closures and landslides in various areas from February 18 to 20, urging caution.
