A bill to substantially raise the salaries of Punjab Provincial Assembly members (MPAs) will be introduced in the Punjab Provincial Assembly on Monday.
The session will commence at 2:00 PM, led by Deputy Speaker Malik Zaheer Channar. This proposed bill seeks to boost the monthly salary of legislators by Rs. 400,000, marking a substantial increase from the current monthly pay of Rs. 100,000. If approved, this raise will be implemented starting January 1st of the next year, effectively quintupling the salaries of Punjab Assembly members.

In addition to salary discussions, the session will address several key administrative and legislative matters. The assembly plans to review and respond to attention call notices and audit reports. There will also be a question period where members can inquire about the excise and taxation department and narcotics control, expecting detailed responses during the proceedings.
