Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Tuesday demanded an immediate meeting with its founder, Imran Khan, citing reports of a sharp decline in his health inside Adiala Jail.
In a statement, the party said medical assessments point to a serious eye condition that threatens Khan’s eyesight. PTI said doctors suspect Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO), a condition characterised by a dangerous blockage in the vein of the right eye.
According to the party, doctors described the condition as severe and warned that delays could cause permanent damage. PTI said proper treatment requires advanced medical facilities and an operating theatre.
The party alleged that jail authorities want treatment to take place inside the prison. Doctors, PTI said, rejected that option and advised care at a specialised medical facility. PTI also claimed that authorities have blocked access to Khan’s personal physician despite standing orders from the Islamabad High Court.
Reports suggest Mr. Imran Khan may be suffering from central retinal vein occlusion. Although we cannot independently verify this, we are deeply concerned and request that a team from Shaukat Khanum Hospital be granted immediate access to participate in his care.#SKMCH pic.twitter.com/1dSLyTEKo3

The party said it submitted a formal request for a medical examination in August 2025, which remains unresolved.
PTI demanded immediate meetings between Imran Khan, his family members, and senior party leaders. The party described the situation as urgent and said delays put Khan’s health at further risk.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar stressed that meetings with the party founder remain a constitutional and legal right.

Speaking to the media, he said Khan’s sisters and party leaders sought to meet him to express solidarity. He added that he had planned to meet the chief justice of the Islamabad High Court, but could not do so due to the judge’s schedule.
Gohar urged restraint in public discourse and called on critics to avoid making allegations without evidence. He said accusations against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government or any institution must rest on proof, not speculation.
The health claims have intensified political pressure on authorities, with PTI signalling further legal and political steps if access to and medical care do not improve. Officials have not issued a fresh response to the latest demands.
