Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) issued a fresh warning on Friday, saying the party may launch a PTI Threatens Post-Eid Movement For Imran Khan’s release while accusing the federal government of “criminal negligence” in the former prime minister’s medical care.
At a press conference, PTI leaders demanded that Khan be transferred immediately to Shifa International Hospital, arguing that further delay could lead to serious consequences.
PTI leaders said they had made repeated efforts to secure what they described as appropriate medical treatment for the party founder. They claimed the government had rejected their requests.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, flanked by senior party figures, said the party would not tolerate what it described as the government’s conduct. He added that PTI was prepared to launch a large movement for Khan’s release.
Afridi said the party had “temporarily slowed” its political activities out of respect for Ramazan, but insisted PTI’s preparations and momentum remained intact.
PTI Leaders Cite Rights Concerns And Demand Transparency
Afridi said the PTI founder’s status as a former prime minister placed legal and moral responsibility on the government to ensure proper medical treatment. He also criticised restrictions on access to Khan’s personal doctors and family members, calling it a violation of basic human rights and legal protocols.
PTI leader Junaid Akbar Khan described what he called a broader political crackdown, referring to the disqualification of PTI senators and the suppression of party workers. He also warned of what he said were worsening foreign policy dynamics, citing tensions with the Taliban administration in Afghanistan.

Senior PTI leader and lawyer Babar Awan described the secrecy around Khan’s medical condition as a criminal act and said the party’s demand for transparency was non-negotiable. He warned that those responsible would be held accountable if harm came to the PTI founder due to a lack of proper care.
Former finance minister Taimur Jhagra said PTI stood with the Constitution and warned that the government’s approach was widening the divide between the public and state institutions.
MNA Shahid Khattak said the party was not politicising a health issue and expressed concern about what he described as the risk of irreversible damage to Khan’s health. PTI’s leaders reiterated that they want immediate action on medical access and treatment, while signalling that a larger political response could follow after Eid
