The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) encountered internal tensions on July 14, 2025, after a meeting of parliamentarians in Lahore. Aleema Khan, the sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, welcomed the gathering as a demonstration of unity. However, Punjab Chief Organiser Aliya Hamza raised concerns about her exclusion from the meeting and questioned the party’s 90-day protest strategy.
Aleema Khan addressed the media at the Gorakhpur checkpost, referring to the recent meeting in Lahore as a “positive development” for both Punjab and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). She stated, “It is encouraging to see all PTI parliamentarians come together in Lahore.” She further emphasised, “We have always believed that MNAs and MPAs from Punjab would show unity, and this meeting confirms that.”
Khan highlighted the injustices that have occurred in Punjab over the past two years, noting that such events contribute to addressing these issues. She commended the initiative, stating, “The meeting is praiseworthy, and we all welcome it.” Regarding the absence of Punjab leaders, she remarked, “We were informed that this was a meeting for parliamentarians, and we are unaware of why Punjab’s leadership was not invited.” She concluded on a hopeful note: “God willing, everything will be fine.”

PTI Internal Dispute with Aliya Hamza
A new rift appeared over PTI’s 90-day “do-or-die” protest campaign. Aliya Hamza, excluded from the Lahore strategy meeting, raised concerns. PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said she was “too busy over the past two days.”
Hamza responded sarcastically on X: “Such busyness that perhaps even I wasn’t aware of!” 10 She questioned the plan: Where is the strategy for Imran Khan’s release? How will the campaign execute? She compared the 90-day timeline to the earlier August 5 deadline.

The Lahore meeting aimed to unify lawmakers, but Hamza’s absence and criticism highlighted coordination issues. The PTI’s protest intends to challenge the government and establish its direction. In summary, Aleema Khan views the meeting positively; however, Hamza’s dispute emphasises internal challenges. For effective campaigning, the PTI must address these issues.
