The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has issued another show cause notice to Sher Afzal Marwat for breaching party discipline.
On Monday, PTI’s leadership censured Marwat, a party leader noted for his vigorous speeches and public statements diverging from the party’s official stance. Marwat has also been barred from representing the party in media engagements until he responds to the notice, dispatched by PTI’s Additional Secretary General, Firdous Shamim Naqvi.
This action follows directives from PTI Chairman Imran Khan, highlighting Marwat’s repeated disregard for party policies and his tendency to make unconsidered statements. He has seven days to submit his response.
Recently, Marwat openly addressed internal party conflicts, warning that he would not remain silent if criticized by others.
Last year, PTI had similarly reprimanded Marwat through a show-cause notice for inappropriate comments that targeted senior leaders and strained diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia. The notice condemned his statements for causing internal discord and damaging relationships within the party.
