Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has officially filed a petition with the Supreme Court, seeking recognition as a party in the ongoing case regarding reserved seats in the assembly.
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the chairman of PTI, will represent the party in the Supreme Court. A formal application has been submitted for inclusion in the hearing.
During the appeals hearing, the Election Commission levelled allegations against PTI, which the party contends are unfounded. Consequently, PTI has formally requested the Supreme Court to be included as a party in the case alongside the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), arguing for fair and just consideration.
Both SIC and PTI assert their eligibility for reserved seats. While the Sunni Ittehad Council has submitted its list for these seats, PTI claims it has been unfairly denied the same opportunity and is seeking redress through the Supreme Court to ensure its involvement in the reserved seats case.
