The police have outlined murder charges against Khan, inclusive of acts of murder and terrorism.
The deceased’s son filed the First Information Report (FIR), a practicing advocate at the Supreme Court. Shar’s assassination has led to widespread outcry from the legal community.
The Balochistan chief minister and the interior minister have requested reports on the incident, with both officials assuring that justice will prevail.
In protest against the killing of Advocate Shar, the bar associations in Quetta staged a strike, with members refraining from attending court cases in a show of unity. Quetta Bar Association’s President, Abid Kakar, declared a total boycott of the Balochistan High Court.
Shar was traveling in a relative’s car when he was attacked from two sides with gunfire.
Earlier, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM), Ataullah Tarar, accused PTI Chairman Imran Khan of being “directly responsible” for Advocate Shar’s murder.
