The PTI announced its internal election results on Sunday. Barrister Gohar Ali Khan became chairman uncontested. Raoof Hasan, PTI’s information secretary, shared the outcomes in Lahore. Omar Ayub was named central general secretary. Dr. Yasmin Rashid won the Punjab presidency, also unopposed.

Ali Amin Gandapur secured the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa presidency. Noorul Haq Qadri and Arbab Jahandad Khan became vice presidents there. PTI K-P’s Qazi Anwar Advocate confirmed Gandapur’s victory. He faced no rivals, as no nominations were filed against him.

Furthermore, Ali Asghar Khan and Irfan Saleem assumed general secretary roles. Fakhar Zaman was elected as deputy general secretary. Joint secretaries include Daniyal Khan Jadoon, Khaista Mehmood, and Taimoor Khalid.

After a petition, the ECP removed PTI’s ‘cricket bat’ symbol on December 22. Hasan remarked Babar, the petitioner, didn’t nominate anyone. He added Babar could still participate. Hasan stressed the elections followed Supreme Court guidelines.

At the announcement, chairman candidates Ashraf Jabbar Qureshi and Aslam withdrew in favour of Gohar. Qureshi praised Gohar’s leadership. He aims for Imran Khan’s early release. Aslam criticized the May 9 violence and February 9, 2024 poll rigging. He demanded results per Form 45.
