The Islamabad administration has allowed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold its Nov 30 public meeting in the federal capital.
Government authorities submitted a written reply to the Islamabad High Court today along with a copy agreement between Islamabad District and the PTI management.
A government representative stated in the court that PTI has been allowed to hold its planned rally, and that the two sides have reached a consensus.
Further modalities in this connection were being finalized by the two sides, with Federal Interior Minister all set to deal with any untoward situation during the political show, a cause of concern for PML-N government.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan has called his ‘tigers’ to gather in the federal capital for a ‘decisive’ showdown against the PML-N rule on Nov 30, seeking judicial enquiry into alleged rigging in last year’s general elections.
On the other hand, to prevent PTI ‘tsunami’ from entering Islamabad, the federal government has decided to raise a fortress of containers around the federal capital’s heavily-guarded Red Zone.
All entry and exit points of the city will also be sealed on Nov 28 midnight, with deployment of several thousand police personnel, sources said.
