In anticipation of the arrival of two opposition long marches in Islamabad, the government has directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to block mobile phone services in different cities of the country.
Reports said the cellular services have already been suspended in Islamabad’s Red Zone with federal capital completely sealed with containers.
Sources said the services have been suspended for an indefinite period at the directives of the federal interior ministry.
