The auction for two new teams in the Pakistan Super League will take place today at the Jinnah Convention Centre at 4:15 PM, marking a major step in the league’s expansion.
Sources said the bidding process will follow an open auction format. The reserve price for each franchise will be announced before proceedings begin. The auction will run in two stages, with bids placed in real time by participating companies.
The highest bidder will secure franchise ownership and earn the right to select a city first. The successful bidders will receive franchise rights for a 10-year period, extending through 2035.

For the new teams, several cities have been shortlisted, including Faisalabad, Gilgit, Hyderabad, Muzaffarabad, Rawalpindi, and Sialkot. Bidders may choose a city outside this list, though an additional fee will apply.
The Pakistan Cricket Board will receive a one-time franchise fee of $1 million from each successful bidder.
Ten companies are participating in the auction. These include M.Next, Dharki Sugar Mills, FKS, Prism Developers, Inverex Solar, Jazz, I2C, Walee Technologies, Vego Tel, and Ozi Developers.

With the addition of two new teams, PSL Season 11 will feature eight franchises, up from six. The upcoming season is scheduled to begin on March 26, 2026, with the final set for May 3, 2026.
Following the auction ceremony, celebrated singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan will deliver a special performance. The event will also include award presentations for the winning teams of the Pakistan Shaheens and Hong Kong Super Sixes tournaments, adding a celebratory close to the landmark occasion.
