Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has officially announced the prize money structure for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 11, which will feature an expanded lineup of eight franchises. The financial announcement was made alongside the confirmation of the auction date for the two new teams.
In a post on his official X account, Naqvi revealed that the PSL 11 champions will receive a grand prize of $500,000, while the runners-up will be awarded $300,000. Additionally, a new $200,000 prize category has been introduced for the “Best Franchise Contributing Towards Cricket Development,” recognising off-field impact and growth initiatives.
The PCB has confirmed that the highly anticipated auction for the two new PSL franchises will be held on January 6, 2026. This expansion marks a significant milestone for the tournament, which will grow from six to eight teams starting from its eleventh season.

The board clarified that only technically qualified bidders will receive invitations to participate in the auction. Successful bidders will then have the right to select their preferred city or team name from a pool of shortlisted locations, which includes Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, and Gilgit.
The official announcement also clarified recent speculation on social media. The PCB refuted claims that franchise names had already been finalised, reiterating that the selection will strictly follow the process outlined in the official bid documents after the auction concludes.
Highlighting the league’s commercial success, the PCB stated, “The HBL PSL, now recognised as one of the premier T20 leagues, continues to grow in commercial strength, fan following and overall impact. We look forward to welcoming new stakeholders to the PSL ecosystem.” This expansion and increased prize money underscore the league’s growing stature in the global cricket landscape.
