Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Javed Hashmi Sunday confirmed that shifting Azadi march out-site of Prime Minister house was ‘unilateral decision’ of Imran Khan.

He said that “Imran Khan had assured me that he will not move forward from Constitution Avenue, and it was the party’s unanimous decision and my personal suggestion to him as well on the grounds that our negotiation team is engaged in talks with the government,”

He further said “But later Khan told me that it is now necessary to move ahead,”

He also condemned government for using force against the protesters and called upon authorities to provide food to demonstrators.

Hashmi also slammed police attack on media covering clashes between police and anti-government protesters in Islamabad.

“The government should not punish newsmen for showing the truth,” the PTI chairman added.
