On Thursday, a protest and sit-in on a major road in Karachi led to severe traffic congestion, creating significant difficulties for commuters. Both lanes from Gurumandir to Numaish Chowrangi are closed, causing heavy congestion on nearby roads and long lines of vehicles.
To manage the disruption, traffic police have implemented diversions:
- Vehicles from Gurumandir are being rerouted via Congress 45 to Peoples Chowrangi.
- Traffic from Peoples Chowrangi is being diverted towards Corridor 3.
Despite these measures, areas like Gurumandir, Peoples Chowrangi, Jamshed Road, and Jail Chowrangi continue to face significant traffic disruption.
The protest has also caused heavy congestion on major roads, including Shaheed-e-Millat Road, Soldier Bazar, and University Road. Commuters reported hours-long delays, with routine minutes-long journeys turning into arduous commutes.
